Quarterback Adams ‘still has ways to go'
Quarterback Jordan Adams has been practicing with the scout team, but remains a long way from being ready for game action, Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan said Thursday.
"He's worked quite a bit," Callahan said. "We're trying to get him in the mix a little more, so we've increased his reps."
Adams, a junior college transfer, has played OK, Callahan said.
"He still has a long ways to go," the coach said. "He's making progress in some areas. In other areas, he needs to show more. It's not as fast as we would like right now. We're patient."
Callahan didn't want to venture a guess as to when Adams might return to full speed. The Californian underwent surgery to remove his spleen on Aug. 28.
