Vista Murrieta (CA) QB/ATH Coltin Gerhart tells me he'll take an official visit to #Nebraska this weekend. #Huskers http://bit.ly/1bY1QJS

Norco (Calif) ATH and #ASU commit Coltin Gerhart will trip to #Nebraska this weekend. Still solid with the Sun Devils

Not sure if Nebraska is recruiting him at QB or Safety. His QB highlights are pretty solid. He's an impressive athlete as well.

His brother is former Stanford and current Vikings RB Toby Gerhart. Also of note, the Gerhart's and Martinez's are close friends. I believe Gerhart's father coached T-Mart a year or two.

I'm very curious what our coaches have planned for Coltin. I found it odd that ASU has only one Az native in their recruits this year. Reel him in coaches!

Kid has some moxie to him. Very decisive on the read option with great vision like a running back. Great pocket awareness with a decent arm. Seems to have some speed and very smart runner in the open field. I was always waiting for him to get caught on the long runs but he just eeks out a touchdown.

Would be a perfect get if we can't lock up Flowers, not sure we would take both. Love the fact he is a safety as well. Give him a shot at QB and always have him playing safety as a backup plan!

Damn how is this kid only a 3 star? He highlights were very impressive, great throwing mechanics, probably comes from the baseball aspect, great runner and does a great job of keeping his head up while scrambling and throwing on the run. I have him ranked higher up than Flowers just based off those highlights.

This kid is the real deal. He seems to make good decisions with a good arm and good speed. He is so quick when he makes his cut. His is TMart-like but is more of a tough runner with a lot better hips and better throwing mechanics.

ASU would not be happy losing him, that's for sure. They are sold on this kid at QB, and they have a prestigious baseball program to offer as well. I'll be curious to see how this one shakes out.
