ATH Coltin Gerhart [Arizona State - Signed LOI]

@DougHaller: ASU coach Todd Graham announces that reserve QB Michael Eubank has asked for his scholarship release and will transfer.

Wonder if this means they will let him play QB now?

I think I read that he feels his best chance to the NFL is as a safety. Not sure he has his heart set on being a QB. I also don't know if he has pro baseball aspirations. If so we have just the baseball coach for you!

Thats kind of what i was thinking. If wants to make NFL safety is much easier to make it than qb.

Yeah, but quarterbacks make a lot more money. And it's not like you can't play QB in college and safety in the pro's. NU has already had two drafted at safety and make NFL teams in Frost an Lord and I wouldn't be too shocked to see Taylor make it three.

Haha... The thought of T-magic playing safety while being allergic to contact makes me smile. Not trying to bash him by any means but I think he remains on the offensive side of the ball as WR and a KOR specialist

Allergic to contact? Not sure where you're getting that. It took two years for the coaches to convince him to avoid contact when possible. The guy was completely reckless early in his career. The number of hits he popped up from and injuries he played through make it pretty clear that he's tough as nails. He probably will stay on offense, but I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of him playing safety.

Allergic as in not good for him‚ case in point‚ this season. And no one is doubting his toughness but pretty sure it takes more than that to play safety in the NFL. Just don't think his inability to take a hit will translate well to safety where he's going to be administrating the contact.

The guy took more physical punishment than the vast majority of players ever have to deal with. To label him fragile because of a freak toe injury is ridiculous.

In many ways Coltin reminds me of Stanton. His size and understanding of the game come to mind first. I would love to have him wear an "N" on his helmet for college.
