I wasn't under the impression of this comment being a dig at NU. I actually thought because of the wording that it was a statement of expectations at NU.

He said the problem with needing more recruiting classes is that NU had ran out the last guy for winning 9 games a year. Meaning, is NU willing to wait for Riley to get his guys? Obviously I think so.

I really think this quote came from someone like Chryst or maybe Fitz. I definitely don't think it was a dig. In my eyes. Total compliment toward the expectations in Lincoln.

I'd bet it was Urban Meyer. His reaction to us firing his buddy Bo was "You're kidding me". So this seems right in line with that.

Also, we were pretty good offensively last year, but compared to tOSU...

 
Some of you guys could benefit from the Google.

There's a difference between revisionism that attempts to rewrite the events and reasons for things tha happened and hypothetical alternative reality theories like draw conclusions based non-occurring events.

I have zero problem with people disagreeing that 2016 would have been "breakout" for Bo. But let's at least agree that words have meanings.

 
It's all about how an individual wants to interpret those words and how that person wants to remember that history.

 
How about we declare a ceasefire as between the Boleavers and Bolievers! It is getting long past due and there will never be a complete agreement as we can all just agree to disagree! It is over and it is history. Bo is no longer the coach and is never going to be the coach again. No matter who the next AD is, it is inconceivable that he or she would rehire him in the future! Bo would not come even if we all magically decided he was the perfect solution to all of the football program's problems.

We are ready to start season two of the "Riley era" so let's just try to focus on this year's team, this year's recruits and the prospects going forward into the future! Fall practice is underway and there is a game in about four weeks!!!!!!! Go Huskers!

 
I like that they do this, I find it very interesting.

The "Teardown" thing burns more than the firing comment. Esp. since I was given the impression by this staff they wouldn't do that.
