I'm just waiting for a reason and viable alternative to NEVER watch ESPN again. Can ESPN afford to allienate B1G country? Do they really want to risk losing a large part of the B1G audience? ESPN can be overthrown.

By the same token can the Bigten afford to be based on the BTN? No one outside the footprint will hear about it.Can ESPN afford to allienate B1G country? Do they really want to risk losing a large part of the B1G audience? ESPN can be overthrown.

People watch Lou, May, and the other guy to get their saturday night college football recap, and gameday in the AM. Can you even name Fox's college sports show without looking? I can't. Assume in the future there are 15 tv stations showing CFB on Saturday afternoon (we may be almost there already). No conference would want to be marginalized by the big show on ESPN that everyone keeps an eye on. TBS was showing college football at some point, if a tree falls in the forest...Fox??

The IU/ Purdue game is the only protected crossover.for the folks that feel it will be the Big XII north part deux:
1. Unless something drastic happens they will be realigning again in a few years.
2. There will be a protective crossover since the Old Oaken Bucket will not be going away. My guess is that you get the wolverweenies.
ESPN losing the noon start games wouldn't be that big of a deal but losing the afternoon and prime time games on ABC would be devastating for them unless they could replace it entirely with SEC games. If they had to replace them with Big 12 or ACC games, there simply aren't enough big time programs to fill that need. You would have to try to have Oklahoma, Texas or Florida State in those slots every Saturday and that isn't possible. Can ESPN afford to allienate B1G country? Ten games coming most likely for the next expansion.Nine game conference schedule on the way. Ten game schedule seems to be off the table for now due to the desire for at least seven home games.
