Didn't Trev Alberts go to the combine? (They had combines back then, right?) He had a vertical leap of around 41".

Maybe the marks above are just for the Rivals era which goes back to 1998 I think.

Didn't redshirt frosh Tanner Farmer post bench rep numbers last year that would have cracked the top 5?

(I understand the thread is about the combine, but just for comparison purposes............that would be fairly impressive)

Ahman Green ran a 4.17 40 time at the NFL combine but it was handheld I thus, I assume not included here for that reason?

This answer's my question above, and yours.

Below are the top five performers at each combine drill since 1999. Keep in mind that every player doesn't participate in every drill, and some guys (like Spencer Long last year) had to sit out the entire event because of an injury.

Handheld times aren't accurate for obvious reasons - by looking at his list I assume wasn't counting those.

The Official Unofficial Sub 4.3 Forty Yard Dash List

1 Bo Jackson Auburn Tigers 4.12 2 Michael Bennett Minnesota Vikings 4.13 3 Alexander Wright Dallas Cowboys 4.14 4 Darrell Green Washington Redskins 4.15 5 Ahman Green Nebraska Cornhuskers 4.17

I often wonder what Herschel Walker would have run at the combine had he not went to the USFL. I'm guessing he would have cracked the top 5 in the 40.

Burkhead is a stud.

I remember Stewart Bradley doing 28 reps on the bench. Pretty impressive for a linebacker, I thought.

Yeah, Helu is faster than I gave him credit for. Really wasn't until the Missouri game that I realized he could run away from people.

AA doesn't have that last gear, imo.

Helu and AA are completely different backs. Helu is more of a one cut and gone and AA is overall a more complete RB. Both are/were studs though
