Not at all. Because my original comment was regarding your OP in starting this thread...which was entirely based on his comments. As I said, his comments will be a non factor, and he's not going anywhere because of them.

 
Texas A&M has polite fans for the most part, great traditions, treat you fairly well

But with a school with about 50,000 students- it failed for many many years to sell out

HUge alumni base, numbers wise in a state with over 20,000,000 people, Houston 90 minutes away

So when you look at it closer, not really in same ballpark as NU fans

 
Notre Dame, definitely.

Thousands of their fans were polite enough to give up their seats when Nebraska came to play so every Cornhusker fan would have somewhere to sit. It felt as if Nebraska was at home...

Are we really asking this question? It's obvious that every SEC school has the best fans, football teams, coaches, players, girls....

 
We are the best fans because we

a) Travel so well

b) Are welcoming to opposing fans

c) Knowledgeable about our team

That label, IMO, was never because we didn't get down on the Huskers or get mad etc........ The Callahan years were the first I can remember folks leaving early for reasons other than getting the last Runza, Vals or to beat traffic.

Twitter, Facebook, this site and other social media allows (sometimes makes) us say or have the ability to say things that do not shine brightly on that Greatest Fan Moniker. Remember TO almost left for CU. Had social media been around he might have. I know I yelled many a Sat watching us lose to OU or blow a bowl game. I consider myself a great fan, win, lose or draw. It doesn't mean I don't get pi$$ed, want guys fired, players benched etc......

 
I think OSU has some very loyal fans anyone see how they took over Cal's stadium on Saturday. That doesn't mean they are the nicest fans though.

What the hell does "the best" mean?

Best at Selling Out the stadium? Nebraska

Best at getting kicked out of their own stadium? Colorado

Best at leaving when they are losing? Texas

Loudest and Drunkest? LSU

Most Polite? Tie- A&M and Nebraska

Best Student Section- A&M

Best at throwing goal posts and tortillas? Texas Tech

Best at poisoning trees? Alabama

We could go on and on

I have watched a 30 year old man burn a Husker t-shirt on his back patio after the VT game in Blacksburg and the continue to actually CRY and bemoan about "when will something good happen to us?" This is not a definition of "the greatest fan" (although he thought he was the best) and I truly believe that is where many of our "inter-fan" divisions come from. I watch every game possible, in person when I can. But I can't watch at a bar or with most of my "friends" because they are the "fanatic" fan that Bo complains about. For every one positive they will find 10 negatives. I understand that is my small group and I like everything else about them, but these nutjobs do exist!
