The MCL is highly stressed during cutting techniques. When they stated that it was a "mild" MCL sprain....grade 2 immediately popped into my head. Very well could be a grade 1 though...some reasons for optimisim....but we'll find out come game time.
Well sh#t, now I'm worried. How would you describe a Grade 1 sprain? What's more mild than mild?
Usually a Grade 1 means there's little to no instability and no gaps in the knee on the medial side. But a grade 1 strain also means fibers of the ligament tore. Also, grade 1's usually aren't braced, so now we have something to watch for!
As for reinjury.....well it's a bent leg injury, so it's going to be tender obviously being a running back. Its just touch and go until it recovers, if you come back too quickly.....well all bets are off.
