Change your 1st 15 Callahan

Three-Star Recruit
Callahan's 15 scripted plays of produced 6 points all year and we give up a touchdown on defense most opening drives for our opponents. How about our staff make some adjustments BEFORE the game starts intstead of having to adjust during the game and come from behind EVERY WEEK!!!!!!!!!

seems like the whole coaching staff doesnt plan well for the game, but during the game they can put something together

:yeah

The O-line starts each game as horrible. The D gets blown out early than recovers and plays with intensity. Pre-game preparation is really questionable.

cant we get somebody in there to make one of those "unforgetable" speeches to pump this team up b4 the game... i wanna see them come out for kansas with fire comin out of their mouths, ears, eyes, everywhere and just knock kansas out early :steam :steam :steam

Murtha got schooled right out of the gate, first play. He needs to gain confidence.

There's no motivation in the world for these guys. You could hold their families ransom and say "the only way you get them back is if you play well".. still wouldn't matter. They'd let the d-line have their way. Does anyone else notice that every single play looks like a screen play? even when it's not.

Anybody else notice that the first 5 drives (15 plays not including punts which I sure hope aren't scripted) didn't produce a single first down? Then suddenly on the 6th drive (after the script was finished) we got a first down? Obviously this idea of scripting the first 15 plays isnt' working.

The first 15 are not the same for every game. On top of that, they aren't static. They are not RUN THESE OR ELSE plays.

This is a foreign topic for NU fans, but not for many other fans around the country.

Doesn't change the fact that it doesn't seem to have gotten us anywhere.

No, it doesn't.

It's funny when a play doesn't work. To some, it's automatically a bad call. What about the defense? Is it impossible that someone made a good play on that side of the ball? Is it impossible that the play broke down somewhere?

I agree. But when it happens repeatedly you have to start thinking about changing it up. It's been an amazing string of good calls by a number of opponents this year. They seem to have BC's number on those first 15 plays.

It has to be the calls not the athletes because the calls are what works not the athletes. :WTH

Unless I am mistaken and I was once before  BC's script is like the first couple of rounds of a fight. Probe the other side and see a reaction. Then it is adapt and ovecome, the winning of hearts and minds. :cheers sorry just a snide comment my bad.

Kind of the complete opposite of Solich. Solich's team would put up 21 points in the first qtr and then hold on for dear life.
