Cincinnati: What Did We Learn?

I think this the 3rd or 4th time that I seen you bring up this game. It was the first game, we played vanilla & yes, it was not our best. We just played #3, let's move on@

Maybe you missed it, but there's an entire 21 page thread on this board of people bringing up this game.

Maybe if we didn't have two godawful teams in a row on our schedule, there would be other things to talk about. 🤷‍♂️

You have a point but you are a knowledgeable football guy that understands teams look different from week 1 to week 4. I think most people are still in wait and see mode- hence our national ranking still in the mid 30s.

I think Michigan can beat Ohio State again.

Cincy's Qb was throwing darts. I think their offense is pretty good. Their d-line is ok and the back 7 sucks.

Agreed on their offense. A couple factors in Kansas putting up the numbers they did against Cincy:
  • Corleone did not play
  • Kansas has a dynamic QB
  • Frankly, Kansas has a better overall offense than we do right now
Against us, Cincy could sit in the 3-deep shell and still stop the run reasonably well because Corleone is a monster and Raiola wasn't going to be a consistent running threat. They couldn't do that against KU, so they had to give them different looks which really exposed the secondary. We almost never got a look like KU got on that 93-yarder, and one of the times we did was a big gain that would have been a long TD if Hunter kept his feet catching the ball. I do think Corleone more or less single-handedly dropped us from 30+ points to 20, both with pass rush and how he allows them to play safe on the back end.
