I'd say it's similar to a pitching coach in baseball that has to come in to correct a glitch after an off year. Not jumping on you TTRR because this has been brought up several times other places but this is a perfect example of lies, damn lies and statistics. Manning was about as bad as possible last year. That stat has been thrown out a lot as "look how good he did with Manning." But in the four years prior to last year, Manning averaged 4,226 yards, 61.5% completions, 28 TDs, 17 INTs, and a 89.6 rating. He had 4,410 yards, 63.1%, 30 TDs, 14 INTs and a 92.1 rating this year. That is, he basically returned to form after a terrible year last year.Dan Hoppen @danhoppen 3m3 minutes agoThis was mostly mentioned already, if so I apologize. But is it to be assumed he will also be the QB coach as well?
In Danny’s Langdorf’s one year as the Giants’ QB coach, Eli Manning flipped his TD-INT ratio from 18:27 to 30:14. #Huskers
Yeah, between Langsdorf and Riley, the QB spot should be well coached.
He's recruited Sean Manning, Jacquizz Rodgers, and James Rodgers as a primary recruiter among others. Helped in landing Brandon Cooks and Wheaton among many othersLangsdorf is interesting; he's spent most of his career at Oregon State as the OC. Curious about his recruiting. It's great that he's a well-regarded teacher of quarterbacks. As for 1-year stops for position coaches, that's not uncommon at all. Coughlin also doesn't have the greatest job security to offer, so cry me a river there![]()
The rushing stats are highly concerning. I dont think you can run that type of offense and be successful in the B1G. I could be wrong, but past performance is a good predictor of future results and I would guess we are going to try to run a pass happy attack which wont be successful in the environments we are going to have to play in.OSU under Riley/Langsdorf

BRFO beat me to it. Eli obviously had been successful in the past, but Langsdorf might have been that factor to bring his game back after a down year. I will concede it could also be merely coincidental, but Langsdorf had some solid QB production at OSU as well.I'd say it's similar to a pitching coach in baseball that has to come in to correct a glitch after an off year. Not jumping on you TTRR because this has been brought up several times other places but this is a perfect example of lies, damn lies and statistics. I think it's irrelevant. If Riley is half the coach people make him out to be, he had to run a successful pass offense in the PAC to be competitive with other high octane offenses in the conference. To me it's similar to a mid major in basketball being a good 3 point shooting team. At OSU, Riley didn't have the resources to recruit with Oregon and USC, so a solid pass game was needed to overcome the possibilities of a bad defense or an offense that didn't have the talent to go toe to toe at the line with the guys getting 5* recruits. The rushing stats are highly concerning. Uh....My guess is he doesnt like working for that meany Tom Coughlin. We will likely pay him more than what he is making now and it will be a lower stress environment than NY. Easy decision. I just hope he isnt here to collect a pay check. The reason for the departure of the 42-year-old Langsdorf is unclear, especially since he's returning to essentially the same job he left a year ago, just at a different place.
You do the math."When I was sitting on the bus after the Jacksonville game, I wanted to fire everybody," John Mara said.
That was the Giants' seventh loss in a row, and the worst of the bunch considering the opponent's record and the 21-0 lead the Giants had at one point in the game. But they won their next three against Tennessee, Washington and St. Louis before losing the season finale against the Eagles.
While saying, "I'm well aware of who we played," Mara said he believed the team continued to play hard for Coughlin and stuck together behind him. Reese underscored that assessment.
