As much as most of those prospects loved the game-day atmosphere at NU, and generally gave their visits a grade 9 or 10, it came down to performances on the field. Last year the recruits gave us a pass due to Callahan's first year. I don't think we got as much of one this year, and poor performance on the field has hurt us some. We still may have a decent class this year, but obviously not as good as it could have been. If we don't show improvement on the field next year, recruiting will suffer more. But then Callahan will be gone, too.
