Definition of a Real Husker Fan

can a true fan be sick of Nebraska football being overshadowed by Bo and his rage?
No. You must embrace the rage. If Bo is expected to be happy, we TRUE fans must be happy as well, but none of us are so neither is he.

Redux,

I have to agree with you totally on them. Closest thing to garbage I have ever tasted. The smell about gags me.I actually get up and leave when some one next to me is eating one. Of course, my son the Missouri/Raider fans says they are the only thing to go to Nebraska for!!! The 200 pound d!(k with feet is a major SEC fan now. Damned kids.

Any other LPS alums remember when the cafeteria had to stop calling them "bunzas" and change it to "nebraska buns" to avoid copyright infringement?

I'm not a true Husker

Thats rough dude. Maybe he will grow out of it.

So you think positivity hurts the team???
That's what you got out of what I said?

I was referencing the differences in opinions between the two different sides, the "haters" and the "sunshine pumpers".
But that is the main difference. One hurts the team, one doesn't.
so a Bo Pelini team has never gone into a game over-confident then gotten their a$$ handed to them?
"No practice today guys, the fans already said we're gonna win out this year!" -Bo

But that is the main difference. One hurts the team, one doesn't.
I agree with this.

If we're going to discuss the impact positivity and negativity have on the team, the impact of negativity FAR outweighs the impact of positivity.

I could afford club seats in West Stadium if I had a dollar for every time I've read the phrase "real Husker fan" in the past few days.

Only thing is, there doesn't seem to be a definitive concept of what that "real" fan is, or does, or believes, or how they feel, and we need to get cracking on this crucial line item if we're ever gonna move forward.

Here's the start of a list I made a while back. Please add to it, so we can nail down what a "real" fan is. This is important. Be for real on this.

A True Husker Fan is someone who thinks what I think, who disagrees with the things I disagree with, who likes my favorite player and who wants to bench the same player I think should be benched.

A True Husker Fan is someone who echoes my sentiments after a loss, who agrees with my take on the team's flaws, and whose rhetoric matches mine while discussing both.

A True Husker Fan shares my taste in runzas, Valentino's pizza and Fairbury hot dogs.

A True Husker Fan stands when I stand, shouts when I shout, sits when I sit and stays quiet when I stay quiet.

A True Husker Fan shares my opinion of Lil' Red.

A True Husker Fan shares my opinions on Nebraska's rivals, which conference we belong in, and which team we love/hate the most.

A True Husker Fan agrees with me on that call that one ref made - you know the one, in that one game, the one that changed the game? Yeah, that one.

A True Husker Fan is someone who knows who the greatest QB, RB, WR and Coach at Nebraska is, and I don't even have to mention names of who I think it is, because they know.
A true Husker fan knows that football exists outside of the 77,355 square miles that is the state of Nebraska. This makes them a football fan first.

:-)

But that is the main difference. One hurts the team, one doesn't.
I agree with this.

Not really. Saban is obsessed with keeping his guys from getting complacent due to all the positive stuff being heard throughout their media. He wants his guys to show up to play hard every week, even if the opponent is crap. Complacency is a huge reason for teams not showing up and dominating teams they should.
