Does the SEC circle jerk finally end today?

Again without showing the matchups IT'S WORTHLESS. Those matchups are largely worthless anyway. Missouri beat Indiana? SEC so good!. Rutgers beat Arkansas? Wow, SEC blows.

Florida lost to Miami FL. Still has Florida State to play.

Alabama beat Virginia Tech.

Arkansas lost to Rutgers

Auburn beat Washington St

Georgia lost to Clemson. Still has Georgia Tech to play.

Kentucky lost to Louisville.

LSU beat TCU

Missouri beat Indiana

Mississippi St lost to Oklahoma St

Ole Miss beat Texas

South Carolina beat North Carolina. Still has Clemson to play.

Tennessee lost to Oregon

Texas A & M did not/will not play a major conference team.

Vanderbilt plays Wake Forest on Nov 30th

So there are 4 more games for the SEC to play against major conference teams.

I hope this adds to the conversation.

Every single Top 30 or so opponent they played was a loss, sans Texas.

Still, the best metric would be to line up the teams in each conference 1-12 (or 14) side by side. Which ones win, which ones lose. That's the best way to really judge how good a conference is. No one is arguing that Kentucky can beat Ohio State.

Some of those aren't good measurements, others are.

Oregon v Tenn? C'mon.

Georgia vs Clemson was good, but Georgia is probably 4-5 this year

FLA vs Miami was a good one. Shows Florida was overrated.

Kentucky is, well, Kentucky.

Arky sucks and Fatty B won't change that

Miss St. is likewise not good.

Still, post season matchups are a better metric than early season games.
So, what you are saying is we really have no clue which conference is better because bowl games haven't been played?? So.....SEC shouldn't be being crowned God's gift to football this year yet?

That's a fair assessment, but all polls are subjective. Do any of us know better than the voters? Maybe, maybe not, but that's the system we operate within.

I disagree because anything can happen in the bowl games. Boise State upset Oklahoma. Utah beat Alabama. You can't tell me that those 2 bowl winners were better overall than the teams they beat. They were better after a month to prepare.

SEC vs. BCS

3-3 when both have winning record

4-0 when SEC has winning record & BCS losing

0-2 when SEC has losing record & BCS winning

0-0 when both have losing record

1-0 when SEC has winning record & BCS .500

0-1 when SEC is .500 & BCS has winning record

Looks to me like everything is equal except the SEC has beat more losing record teams from other conferences than the BCS has beat SEC teams.

Why?
Because the matchups and locations are more favorable for his argument.

Let me ask this.

Why is Missouri ranked #5? I will give you that they are undefeated. However, the only major wins are against two three loss teams. One of those also lost to Vanderbuilt. The only other real tests they will have are this weekend against another 3 loss team and then against aTm and I have no clue how many losses they will have by the end of the year. They just got beat by the #24 team.

So....other than being in the mighty SEC, what is going to hold them up in that high spot? I really don't see any dominant teams on their schedule that they can hang their hat on as a major win.

I thought maybe they had all of a sudden started recruiting well. But, their average recruiting class is ranked 36 over the last 4 years.

Why are Baylor and Tech also in the Top 10? They have literally played nobody. (Well Tech played TCU, but they suck)

But that being said, undefeateds belong in the Top 10. If you are from a major conference and undefeated at this point, its somewhat legit.
