Does the SEC circle jerk finally end today?

Or we could go the A&M route, join the SEC, lose games, still be ranked, and forget what a bottom feeder you were in the Big 12.
When were we a bottom feeder? You obviously mean last in the conference, so when was that? Was it recently?

I was also unaware performance in previous years was taken into account for the mid-year rankings. Especially performance of over 2 years ago. Please tell me how insulting my school has anything to do with this current discussion?
It's funny because we have a more relevant Big 12 title and last time I checked, Nebraska is supposedly not relevant.

Btw, when was your last conference title game apperance?

This is why we laugh at the SEC for the carnage you have caused.
I don't think either of our performances in the Big Dumpster Fire conference have any impact on our "relevance" today.
We actually finished with two conference title appearances in the Big dumpster fire. We are trying to ride that momentum into our new conference.

Tamu on the other hand had a couple of good years, but couldn't break through to the top of the division. You were in the middle of the pack for a long time in the Big dumpster fire sometimes behind Tech or Baylor and that is why your sudden SEC explosion is hilarious because now we have to augment history to try to show how good tamu was in the big rumpster fire.

It isn't there.

I'm going to say a Heisman Trophy Winning QB (Who wasn't playing in B12) and a new coach has a LOT to do with our new success. It's not the same team. Big differences.

But if you still were in the old league putting huge offensive numbers, played little defense, and lost to average teams you would be...well...in the exact same spot you were in all through the last five years in the Big 12.

Now those teams are called "tough" or "gritty" and your a top 15 SEC team. Congrats to you and making the SEC burn!

Are you saying the teams in the Big 12 and the SEC are the same? Because that's what it sounds like.

"Average" teams? We lost to Bama and Auburn...people seem to think Auburn sucks. They had been recruiting at a high level and the coaching kept them down. They are certainly not just an average team.

Tamu has beat zero ranked opponents.

Auburn has beat you, but you have no ranked victories.

Auburn has also beat a 4-4, 3-3, 3-3, 4-3, 1-7 fcs team and lost to a 6-2 team.

Where does that make them look anything but just above average?

Ole Miss was ranked when Auburn played them, just so you know. I'm saying they are improving and improving quickly. Yes, A&M has beat nobody this year. Trust me, I am not arguing that we are better than we are. Our D is so bad that if our O misses a single series, we lose the game. My guess is by the end of the year, they're a 8 or 9 win team. Not average. The SEC is a tough conference. I know that people are tired of hearing about the big, bad SEC. So, you have two choices:

1. Whine about it

2. Win, Kick their asses so that YOU'RE the conference and program people are talking about.

We did win. We went 1-2 against the SEC all while playing in your backyard while our two top teams were under probation. You still barely beat michigan and your play from a title team got more than it asked for with a nebraska team getting humiliated by wisconsin. Yet you continue to say how tough your conference is.

Btw Lousville demolished your big bad florida team with their amazing defense. You know what we call that in the B1G? Michigan State and they didn't fare to well last year.

@KirkHerbstreit: So, you think the SEC is overvalued?Since 06 Bowls vs Top 10 non conf opp. SEC 20-9, Pac12 8-17, Big12 4-11, B1G 4-20, Big E 2-10, ACC 5-29

Didn't he go to a B1G school?

There were six games played in the $EC Saturday. Five of them made Kirk Herbstreit's top seven victories of the weekend. Vandy got hosed.

Where is Stanford?

Not in the $EC?

I mean, they were good. But they weren't the #1 team in the nation - at home - beating a team who hasn't beaten anyone who's beaten a BCS conference school this year. Or Missouri beating a 4-3 team whose four wins are against opponents who are a combined 3-10 in their conferences.

This is quintessential "Upsets in the SEC show how tough it is, upsets anywhere else show how bad the conference is"

This just proves everybody's point. When highly rated SEC teams get beat because they played poorly (which was the case in pretty much every upset on Saturday) all of the dumbsh#ts at ESPN talk it up like the other team was a world-beater. No, sorry, LSU, SC, A&M, and Florida all lost for various reasons - none of which includes a quality opponent.

South Carolina and ESPN's favorite pony-boy got beat by a team that got flat out embarrassed by Oregon AT HOME.

LSU lost to a team full of freshmen that was on a 3-game losing streak.

Georgia lost to a team that got absolutely dismantled by Missouri.

A&M lost because they have one of the most pathetic defenses in the nation and their one and only hope of being a respectable team (Manziel) got beat on all game long and was throwing with a hurt shoulder.

Florida... Their offense is friggin' atrocious. And their defense got demolished by Mizzou behind the force of their backup QB. A game between Florida and Michigan State could end up with a score of 3-0 in 7 OT's.

Mizzou - I keep thinking they are bound to get exposed one of these weeks. I'll give them credit though. They've competed well so far this year. But them again, they are still Mizzou, destined to disappoint.

Bama - Their schedule is equally as weak as ours. Difference is, they take care of business. They'll be tested in a couple weeks when they play LSU, but there's no reason for them not to run the table in dominating fashion. Because face it, aside from the Crimson Tide, the SEC is full of flawed teams this year. I look forward to watching either Winston or Mariota torch them in the title game, because we've seen the past 2 years what happens when Bama actually plays a team with a quality offense and a good QB (A&M), unlike the undisciplined thrown-together style of offenses that most SEC teams put onto the field.
