Ekeler to USF?????

If he does leave does that open the door for Jimmy Williams?

Jimmy is the first guy I thought of. If Ek did leave I'd bet Jimmy gets hired, wouldn't surprise me if a call has already been made since Jimmy isn't at Buffalo anymore.

But this seems like a big jump for Ek, I don't know Leavitt goes with a guy that has only been a full-timer one season

Are we sure he got an offer? Seems to be that USF has interviewed several guys for the opening but that Joe Tressey currently at Cincinatti is the preferred choice.

Do we really think Ek would leave anyway? Does he have more respect for Leavitt than Bo even though they won a national championship together at LSU? And Ek is a Nebraska native. What Nebraska native would rather coach for FSU than NU? I dono, Leavitt must carry alot of weight with him.

So, how many of you would turn down a raise that would double your salary and make you the 2nd or 3rd in the company because they ask you to move. More power to him, he should be rewarded. Happy coaches will make happy players.

Does anybody here think he's ready to be a DC?
As another poster said, you do have to start somewhere, but I still think he's too young/inexperienced. I think another poster mentioned that the 2008 season was his first season as a full time coach. If he goes to USF, I think he is hindering his career. Nothing wrong with going there or some other place a few years down the road, but he followed Pelini to Nebraska to do a job, and I don't think leaving is going to help finish the job he helped start.

Bo has always been the biggest supporter of his coaches taking jobs if it would get their careers to the next level.

aint no lie we lose this guy we lose arguably our best recruiter and one of our better coaches. i really hope he stay's but then again i'm rooting for him and USF it's the oppritunity of a life time for him.
