Sir Alex Ferguson Handed 5 Match Ban

The English FA have banned the Manchester United boss for 5 games after Ferguson made comments about referee Martin Atkinson following the match against Chelsea on March 1. Ferguson was also fined $30,000.

A statement on the official FA website said: "The commission found the charge of improper conduct relating to media comments proven, following remarks made in relation to match official Martin Atkinson in post-match interviews following Manchester United’s fixture with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday 1 March 2011. Furthermore the commission invoked a two-match suspended touchline ban, relating to a previous charge of improper conduct in relation to media comments made in October 2009. Therefore Sir Alex Ferguson was ordered to a serve a five-match touchline ban commencing on Tuesday 22 March 2011."

 
Joe Jordan Handed 1 Match Ban By UEFA For Altercation With Gattuso

Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan has been handed a 1 match ban by UEFA. Jordan had a fiery altercation with Gennaro Gattuso during Tottenham’s Champions League clash with AC Milan at the San Siro on February 15.

Arsene Wenger & Samir Nasri Handed 1 Match Ban For Comments Following Barcelona Defeat

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and midfielder Samir Nasri have both been handed 1 match bans following comments made to referee Massimo Busacca following the Champions League loss to Barcelona last week. Wenger has also been fined $10,000. The bans will come into effect next season, meaning that the pair will not be able to participate in the first European game of Arsenal's 2011-12 season.

Barcelona Confirm Abidal's Surgery A Success

A statement on the club's official website reads: "During the operation, which lasted for approximately three hours, the medical team removed the tumour through laparoscopic surgery without any complications. The player could be fit to leave the hospital within a week, depending on his progress. In accordance with the specific wishes of the player himself, the Club would like to demand the maximum respect for his privacy at this moment."

Giuseppe Rossi Would Consider A Move To Barcelona - Agent

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi would have no hesitation in joining Barcelona if a realistic offer were to arrive, claims his agent Andrea Pastorello.

The Italian has enjoyed a stellar season with Villarreal, raising speculation regarding a summer exit.

Pastorello told Radio Mana Mana: "No player would ever refuse to go there. At the moment there are just voices around, nothing concrete. Rossi is focused on doing well with Villarreal until the end of the season, then we will see."

 
Arsenal Prepared To Let Fabregas Leave In The Summer

Goal.com is reporting Arsenal would be willing to let Cesc Fabregas join Barcelona this summer if La Blaugrana match their $45 million valuation.

“Arsenal are a selling club and every player has his price,” a source close to the Gunners board told Goal.com. “They dug their heels in last summer because Barcelona didn’t match their valuation but they will let him go with their best wishes if they receive an offer that reflects what Fabregas is worth, which is around $45 million.”
