Did the piece of wood have anything written on it?

The women dropped the piece of wood near a cliff. She bent over and picked up the wood and began to stumble. Due to this... she fell off the cliff and died

When the woman picked up the piece of wood her reflection was obscured by the crowd of people, a guy name BLADE happened to see that and mistakenly took her for a vampire and ripped the wood out of her hand and pierced her heart to keep the evil from spreading

Is it too small to be a crucifixion(the wood)? Was it a Roman guard that killed her?

I am kinda stumped on this one.

When in doubt

OK best guess final answer :WTH

The woman dropped then picked up a nightstick dropped during a scuffle at a public disturbance. A police officer told her to drop it and when she did not comply used deadly force to prevent her from injuring/harming the officer or others.

Did you mean to say that the woman died, yet was not injured?

The woman was crossing a rope bridge with wooden slats across it. She bent over, picked up the slat in front of her and continued walking. She subsequently fell through the hold in the bridge to her death.
