I think John Butler has 10 years experience as a special teams coordinator.

We just signed a portal long snapper. This was a huge problem this year. Could argue it cost is a couple games.

Is Foley really the problem? Or does he just get blamed for it.

We are terrible at both returning punts and kicks and not great at coverages either.  I don't think that will be fixed by getting a new long snapper.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious. Did you not watch this kickers, punters, kick returners, coverage teams? Barney caught a kickoff going out of bounds at the 3 yard line. Cue the circus music.

Yeah, that was what I call ‘classic corn.’ This team has done stupid stuff like that in big moments through multiple coaches and recruiting staffs.

Do you really think Foley was ok with that or didn’t coach him not to do that?

There were problems but that particular example is on the player.

We have been dumb in phases of special teams longer than I can remember…. Long snapper was one of half a dozen issues..

 
I join the ‘fire the coaches’ crowd later than most. It’s often an over-simplified imaginary ‘fix’ for multiple issues. 
 

Remember Four- fifty? Man huskerboard wanted him fired.

And then Frost didn’t have a coach and that was bad.

And now Foley sucks.

@Mavric you mentioned kick and punt coverage. Where did they rank? I don’t remember them being good or bad.

Getting 2 punts blocked in one game (didn’t we have that happen?) sucks bad.
