Eh, I guess so, if the game were to end just before the culmination of Ohio State's 10-play, 75-yard drive to open their second half for the offense, the score would have been 35-31 and the time would have been a little bit north of 9:00.
I don't think the original characterization is so far off. Ohio State basically had four three-and-outs in the 1st quarter, and then reeled off four straight TDs in Q2 and we had no answer defensively for them the rest of the way. Our own offense did a good job of cutting the 35-24 halftime deficit with the first drive of Q3, but the defense had already fallen apart and the game fast got out of hand from that point with the offense not being able to keep pace. After a fast start it was already slipping away in Q2.
As for the adjustments there was this awesome OSU site that broke down what they did and some of the plays from that game...anyone got the link handy?
In summary we came into that game doing some good things and eventually got our asses kicked.
