I just read and maybe it is old news, but back in may the rules committee changed how the game clock is ran after first downs and kickoffs.
1) The clock will start after a first down when the ball ready signal is given instead of at the snap of the ball.
2) The clock will start when the ball is kicked not when the receiving team touches it.
The idea was to shorten the game I guess. I think it makes no sense to make these changes. What are your thoughts.
The article also said something about shortening halftime but didn't say to how long.
