Our WR coach must suck.

Our WR coach must suck.

Barney is also listed as the 4th best fresh WR IIRC.  Great stat for sure, but I guess you could play  devil's advocate and argue it's because of Raiola, the OL play or gasp Satt's play calling getting them in a position to succeed.  Interesting that they all have winning records (guys are in decent company), but Kansas at 2-6 (I'm guessing playing from behind increases pass rate.  Cincy is 5-3, Duke 6-2 and Oregon undefeated...Hope it continues.  4 to get 1.  Bowling plans hopefully start tomorrow.

And I never thought I'd see the day when NU ever led any record related to passing :D   Just win!

Our WR coach must suck.

I mean they can barely block, were running lazy routes and weren't competing for balls the first half of the season.  Barney is also padded from all of the jet touch passes, and banks has a few too.

Its not the WR coachs..  Anyone ever wonder why Banks transfered? Why did Neyor bounce around school to school?

Barney is balling. We have speed sitting on the sideline.

Satt and Rhule to worried about big bodys wr's.  Bargey is the only threat we deploy at WR.  Fidone 6'11 statue couldnt catch a pass and make a move to save his life.   Put the athletes with the ability to make plays after the catch.  Thank me later.  Well its prob to late now but u get it.

It is slightly laughable co-relating the WR coach with receivers ability to catch the ball.  Maybe a small tweek can be suggested, but mostly the kid either catches or is hit and miss with catching passes.

WR coach- helping players recognize pre-snap coverage, what routes are possible adjusted to vs said pre-snap read, getting off the line against press coverage, route running(ie plant foot coming out of breaks, reading DB body leverage) and BLOCKING.

What of these has the WR corp shown to be even average at???

But alas, what would I know.  I mean coaching DBs in college, after playing corner and free safety, and sitting in staff meetings and seeing what practice schedules would be everyday for all positions , and then going head to head against that position group everyday........yeah McGuire is probobly doing a swell job

Right now, I'd give McGuire a pass.  I think our problem is Satterfield.  The routes take to long to develope.  Big 10 def. are bringing pressure & Satterfield never makes adjustments for Riola to get rid of the ball faster.  He needs to be gone yesterday!

Maybe you should know what constitutes a drop before posting about it.
Not related to the exchange of you two, but interesting question about “drop”. What would be considered a drop? Anything that touches the hands? Some outstretched arms and the hands touch the ball…a drop? Or is there a catch probability factor used? Am I just a nerd for wondering these things??

What the heck is going on with Coleman?? Don't think I seen him play all year.  Yes he was hurt but why isn't he playing and if he is then he must be a ghost bc I don't remember seeing him playing?  He was supposed to be a factor in our wr corps but haven't seen him.

Do you pay attention to anything? He's redshirting this year due to an injury.
