Newby, TA, Cross, Ozigbo, Reilly, Moore, Turner, and Janovich all have cares now. Wilbon can't get a single touch?
Correct. The better player in practice will always be the better player in the game.Just a thought, but maybe Ozigbo has practiced better?
It's bizarre. Newby is legitimately awful. Wilbon's pass pro can't be THAT bad that. I have trouble believing he'd be any worse than Jaquizz Rodgers in pass pro.Wilbon......still missing.
Newby......still vanilla.
Careful I got torched when this hire happened for saying that same statement. Don't win 9, gotta lower those expectations.I personally think Riley is trying to lose. He saw what Callahan did, and said "that looks like a good idea!" I too wish that Wilbon would get some carries as I am over the Imani experience, but I also do not believe that the coaches are ignorant of talent and skill.
I agree with me.Newby needs to be replaced. He is sub-par in vision, cutting, power, aggression and finishing. Wilbon looks the best so far. Hope to see a lot of him THIS week.
Pretty small sample size you're using to judge him there. You're also overlooking the explosiveness he showed in the screen game. And this is less about certainty that Wilbon is the answer and more about certainty that Newby is not. If Wilbon turns out to be as poor a runner as Newby, have we lost anything in the process? Not sure I get this one. 2.3 ypc isn't exactly impressive.
Need proof.Hey I saw Wilbon outside of Canes at approximately 4pm today. He's alive and well, we can close the thread down guys.
He's bad, zoogs. Inexplicably bad. Like, "give Rudy a chance to get in the game for one snap" bad. I implore anyone who has any doubts to re-watch the game and watch only him on offense.Newby isn't that poor. Possibly Wilbon is quite similar (flashes, but needs more experience. Maybe he's more athletic, but on the other hand less polished) and he would get chances if they wanted more committee look.
I would like to see some Wilbon/Ozigbo going forward, though. Just to spell Newby. If Newby goes down we want the next guy to have some more experience. Cross has that but might not be the right #1 runner. Seems more of a specialist.
I mean, I haven't been blown away by his play, but this is where we'll have to disagree. He's bad, zoogs. Inexplicably bad. Like, "give Rudy a chance to get in the game for one snap" bad. I implore anyone who has any doubts to re-watch the game and watch only him on offense.
Perhaps. The problem is that it's pretty much been a one-man show at RB, leaving open the question of whether anyone else can do better. That, again, is my point: I'd like to see proof that Newby is a better long-term solution than Wilbon.I mean, I haven't been blown away by his play, but this is where we'll have to disagree. He's bad, zoogs. I'm not exactly able to offer a qualified expert opinion, either, so I'm not saying you are wrong. Just that to me, this seems harsh. I'd like to see Wilbon or Ozigbo get some more PT too, but this is an unusually blistering view on Newby. Time will tell, right?
