Huskers can beat USC

I said it for Texas in the National Championship game and I'll say it for the Huskers.....You cannot get down by more than 14 points against USC...You gotta match score for score....Take advantage of USC's mistakes and do NOT make any mistakes of your own.

I think its going to be a high scoring game...eventhough our defense is better than USC's, our defensive back inexperience will hurt us.

Huskers 41-38

We've gained a lot of confidence on our team dating back to the KSU game last year. If we can play with the same type of confidence, intensity, and focus, I believe we'll walk out of USC with a win. And also, we're going to have a bunch of our fans for the SC game, and with the 30K fans headed there, we all expect a win. As long as we can believe in ourselves and play our type of football, we can win this.

If we beat USC we can beat Texas and oh sweet mother of god if that happens think where we will go!!!!! I'm sure though someone will say something after this to try and bring me back down to reality!!!!! But, whomever that is it's not going to work!!!!! I got so much confidence in this team it hurts!!!!! :restore

I had a kick a$$ dream a while ago where Nebraska won 32-28. It was one of those kind of dreams that feel like they are real. There was a little under two minutes left in the game and we were down 28-25 and they had the ball. They took some time off of the clock and we eventually forced them into a 3rd and 10 situation. Instead of just running the ball they tried to surprise us with a pass. Booty went back to pass while Jarret ran a 10 yrd out. He throws it to him and octavian comes out of knowhere and takes it 50 yards to the house. It was the best dream I ever had. Lets just say that I woke up with goose bumbs from that one.
32-28 GO HUSKERS!!!

I am telling you it is a sign. :worship
Dude, I think you were just dreaming about the Alamo bowl again!
Yah, I noticed the similarities in the score. I also predicted the right score for the Louisiana Tech game. And I was talking to my dad about the game last night and I said "I think we have a shot at beating USC but I don't know" and he said "That we are going to beat USC". Then he went on to say that he had the same exact feeling that he did on the 1995-96 championship where he was cocky enough to say that we were going to beat Florida by more than 35 points on the radio. He said that the people on the radio were laughing at him. It was the mix 106.3 in Yankton. He said that he doesn't think that we are going to win by that much but he says we are going to win. And don't let him hear differently.

IMO, there is only a few ways we have a chance of winning this game.

Offensively. We must keep their offense off the field as much as possible, and we must be productive on offense. Our offense must create LONG successful drives (5-7 minutes). This will keep their offense off the field while taking time off the clock. We will need touchdowns, not fieldgoals. The USC offense WILL score on our defense.

Defensively. Put pressure on Booty. Our under-sized and inexperienced defensive backs will not be much of a threat to their wide receivers. Booty, while potentially a good QB, is still relatively unexperienced (especially against quality defenses). We must throw off his timing and make him paranoid about getting hit. This, IMO, is the best defense we will have against their tall and very fast receivers. Watch for the run. If they are successful running the ball, we are in trouble.

Special Teams. Win the special teams battle. We cannot have them get big returns, and we need get some good returns. Give them a long field to work with. This would be a good game for Congdon to kick it out of the endzone every time. They have great kick-returners, so I would rather take our chances with them starting on the 20 all game.

Ball Control. No turnovers period!

If we can keep it a close game (even if we lose), it is a win for us. The only way we can lose is if we get blown out. Getting our asses handed to us would just be REAL bad on so many levels. I dont't think we will get blown out, but in all honesty, the match up between ther WRs and our DBs scares the $hit out of me. Our DBs have to play abouve and beyond themselves this weekend.
