Looking at our size, on average, it's 319 pounds. Not bad, considering it's a bit above the Big 10 average weight of 314, and the same as the SEC of 319. Good sized boys to cause a fine running game, and to protect our quarterback from being sacked... it seems.
Size means a lot in line play, O and D. But of course training and coaching mean a lot, too. The published statement about our O-Line in July was: "The Nebraska Cornhuskers' starting offensive linemen are projected to average around 319 pounds for the 2025 season, based on a July 2025 report. This size indicates that the unit is expected to be one of Nebraska's largest and most experienced offensive lines in recent years."
And:
Key details about the 2025 offensive line:
Nothing about Coach Donovan Raiola there.
Some discussion about all this, expectations vs reality of playing against a determined "blue blood program in the Big 10 Conference," would interest some of us. Is this about coaching? Is it about too early to say much? Why did we gain next to nothing in the run against Michigan here in our stadium?
Etc...
