If we lose to the Gophers in MN,

Losing in an away game to an undefeated, coaches poll top 25 when we can still get a bowl game really isn't the end of the world. That doesn't mean I won't be pissed too, but we will still have the opportunity to show improvement this year.

 
This is the kind of stuff I expect in the offseason, along with recipes, some goofball injecting politics where it doesn't belong, Iowa jokes, discussion of future non-conference oppoenents people want to see NU play, and someone bashing Dirk Chatelain.  Can't we save that crap for then?

 
If we haven't regressed from the last half of last season then we should destroy Minnesota again.  Sure they're 5-0, but they got there by barely clinging on to victories against very bad teams.

To my eyeball test, we have regressed since we went 4-2 last year.  That's what's concerning.  Martinez seems off, we have some guys dinged up, center is a work in progress...However, we did finally win a close one.  Mills and Wan'dale are hitting their stride and improving, the D is playing well...

I'm not thinking we destroy Minnie, but I think we win in a close one.  I'd honestly prefer the game to be a snowy mess. IMHO, hurts them more than us.

 
IMO, every season should be looked at it’s own separate entity.  There are different players on the roster each year, different circumstances, and opponents can change (same opponents can get better/worse, too).  That’s why I hate preseason polls who basically go off on how teams finished the previous season. Clemson doesn’t look as good as they did last season, but are still in the top 2. 

I guess people are frustrated because NU isn’t progressing from the 4-2 finish last year. I get it. The QB is the same, and many of the other parts are the same, but they aren’t playing as expected. However, the o-line is very different and much younger. I think the D has gotten much better, and is a good mix of veteran leaders and young talent.

I look at it that NU is getting better in getting wins so far this season. NU isn’t in the position to worry about style points. Just get W’s and keep building the program.

Aside: I sang the part of Taye Diggs from the video. Gail sang Rosario Dawson’s part. We are the best singers for the Pender Players. Sure do miss the old venue!
