I think this is something that has to wait to be determined. I'm not talking about the end of the year, or next year.

This is something that I think has got to be determined maybe 10 or 12 years down the road. I'm not even sure he's reached the midpoint of his career yet.
first, i am bored. have you been on huskerboard lately?

second, he was only at OU for one year and lsu for a few. so if he stays here for over 5 years, i would hope that would be his best defense, but he was not afforded that benefit at the previous schools. that is why i think the question is relevant now. also, it is more of an open-ended conversation starter.
I understand your bored, but think about this.

What if the question was asked, "is this T.O.'s best team" after he lost the 83 Orange Bowl?

Thing is, it's tough for us to say at this point. Who's to say in 4 or 5 years, after we're firmly ensconced as a national power, we start recruiting even better than we are now, that Bo may have one of the most insane defense's ever constructed.
you are missing my point. TO only coached at NU. what i am saying is that he was given a year at OU, three at LSU, and now one and some at NU; so all things are about equal. if you judged BO after being here for 5 years and only OU at one, i would hope that there would not be a conversation about that because of what BO could create after 5 years. now things are as close to equal between all the schools as they are going to be.

plus, is is interesting to compare and contrast at this point.

For me, it has to be at LSU. When he was at OU, he was the co-defensive coordinator. At LSU, he was the defensive coordinator. At Nebraska, the only year it was "his" defense was in 2003. He's now the head coach, so really it's not "his" defense.

It really is his defense considering from the start he has always had a huge hand in it. From day 1 at his presser he said he was going to be hands on with the defense. Even if it is Carl's defensive unit, Bo is ultimately the final say on all decisions.
