he did, but had years left on his deal and signed an extension (raise) after the season. There were a few schools being thrown around but the one that everyone was talking about was WashingtonThis is a vry ugly situation. I can't see him keeping his job after this. And I don't unserstand wittlock's logic behind no job offers after the orange bowl win due to his weight he needs sources that teams showed a lack of intrest because of his weight. This is my main problem with him he wsants people to take things as gospel just because he said them. Gary Pinkel has an eqully good season did he get va bunch of job offers I'm not aware of?
Sorry for the lack of punctuation
I don't even know Wright, but I already hate the guy.Lawrence Journal World has updated their story, this all started with a poke in the chest? A freaking poke in the chest? No wonder they're 1-5 in the Big 12 if they have pansies like this running around the school. If there's no more than a poke involved, Mangino should not lose his job. Otherwise Bo should be fired for grabbing facemasks, and i'm sure he's poked a kid or two in the chest while getting a point across.

The Kansas Athletic Department is conducting an investigation of football coach Mark Mangino and the Journal-World has confirmed the investigation began after Arist Wright complained that Mangino poked him in the chest in the days before KU took on Colorado.
 :violin
Yeah, it sounds like a lot of these issues have been around for awhile, but with the team spiraling downward, it all of a sudden becomes important to address them.If this is really only about a poke in the chest, they're just looking for a reason to get rid of Mangino.
Pssst. Art Briles is the coach at Baylor now. Kevin Sumlin is the coach at Houston.I hope nothing but the best for Gill, but it'd be so hard to see him at Kansas. Especially when it comes to game time vs NU. But, if that's what goes down so be it. I know it's probably nonsense, but I think Houston's Art Briles would be a good fit for KU. No real good explanation, just think he'd be good there..
Rumor has it - and KU fans correct me if I'm wrong - but it has to do with "continued altercations with players"....whatever that means.
:yeah Couldn't agree more, only thing that can be pinned on Mangino is putting all his eggs in one basket as far as skill positions, and not back filling their lines. From what is being reported he got in the face of a few players, popped one on the chest in his pads, and grabbed a few face masks. If this is the case then I feel sorry for KU and their fans for having such wimps on their team.
When I was playing in college our O-line coach would swing a fungo bat at us. If we came out of our stance too high, we got popped in the helmet.
These kids that whine today about a coach getting in their face and challenging them are pathetic. People that feel that a coach shouldn't grab a face mask or two are the same people that think that kids shouldn't compete and win and that all participants should get the same medal or trophy. They are wimps.
If KU were winning, this would be a non-issue. Since they're not....it's being brought to peoples attention.
