McMullen Taking Leave of Absence - Retiring from Football

What Riley should have said was, "My boy McMullen is just chilling for a week or two". "Gots some things to take care of, you dig?" "Ain't no thang".

 
Not bothered by McMullen leaving. Him and Williams hurt the depth though if someone goes down

Heard, Love, Hart, Gladney, Williams, McMullen. None of them finished their eligibility at NU.

I heard the same thing about Ross Pilkington when he left the then latest and greatest incarnation of Husker football, the Bill Callahan era. "We don't want him here, he's taking up space that Callahan can put one of his own guys in!", even though Pilkington was a leading receiver and team captain.

So there is that parallel which I hope doesn't repeat itself.

McMullen's career at NU is over. He's graduating and just moving on. Calling it a retirement, although there is no word on a transfer.
