Media Bias

I’m not arguing that she, the judge, did nothing wrong. Sounds like she probably did intend to help him circumvent ICE capture and she should be held accountable for that
Ok, yet you seem to have a problem with me posting about it.   I can’t control if ICE did a bang up job in capturing the dude or if they did a s#!tty job.   She dis try to help him avoid ICE.   If the ICE personnel need additional training on capturing a fleeing suspect that’s fine.

I guess my point is, if ICE would’ve just tapped the guy on the shoulder, as he was exiting the courtroom, and said hey, buddy, you’re under arrest or being detained or whatever the hell, this whole thing is a non-issue. So he walked out door A instead of door B…both lead to the hallway where he had to exit either way.

It’s all just performative bulls#!t to rile up the base and play in the news. The story shouldn’t be “rogue liberal judge…”, it should be “inept politically motivated and news cycle driven agents botch arrest and whine about judge”.

@JJ Husker  So, let me get this straight.

The judge let the guy leave out a side door.  The ICE agents were all around and actually saw him and knew where he was.  They didn't arrest him right away. He obviously spent time walking around the court house until he left.  THEN they arrested him.

So......how was what door he went out supposed to prevent him from being arrested?

Ehhh, story is still “Liberal Judge has a hissy fit about ICE and tries her best to prevent them from doing their job.  People whine about judge getting in trouble and side with criminal illegal”.  News at 11:00

Ehhh...meanwhile, some people complain about judges and side with a criminal that ignores court rulings.

Your outrage would make sense if she allowed him to leave out a side door that lead to a private stair case that ICE couldn't see and he snuck out the back.

But....that's not what it sounds like happened.
Outrage, performative outrage to be precise, is the point.

And yes, what I saw on the surveillance camera compilation is the defendant and his lawyer calmly walking down a couple hallways and getting on an elevator. Oh, and they happened to be followed about 15’ back by one agent and also walked past two seated agents on their  way to the elevator. And, IIRC, the following agent got on the elevator with them….yet somehow that dastardly tricky judge prevented him from being arrested before he got outside the building and onto the street.

If Dugan intended to help him avoid ICE, I don’t have a problem with her being charged. But WTF.

Why did the criminal walk out a different way than what is standard?

performative outrage? 🙄  who knew posting on Huskerboard was now performative outrage 🤣

It's all the GOP defenders have left at this point: talk about anything other than the absolute s#!tshow their party and their votes are responsible for.

TBH, the performative outrage comment was not aimed at you. It was intended for the administration and MAGAland. It’s what they do with everything when they want to whip people up into a froth over something.

It seems to be working just as intended.

In terms of threatening the bullworks of democracy, judicial improv, and performative horseshit, where does this case rank in the weekly news cycle?
