media day

I seriously can NOT believe what this thread has come to. All this over MEDIA DAY? :bang
Yeah but it was such an important tradition at NU. :sarcasm First cutting back on the walk-on program now media day. What's next the Red N coming off the uniforms?

and one more day devoted to practice is not going to make us "turn the corner" either.......i don't cling to NU tradition, but somewhere along the way people see so many things dropped that they begin to ask questions......changing for the sake of change does not guarantee success.....media day is something that correlates to fan support......i guess Cally doesn't need that either?  just remember his stupid comments about just one game, just one season....is everyone ok with that hs too? :WTH

Media day has nothing to do with fan support. I think you are mixing up fan day with media day. Media day is basically just a bunch of TV reporters, radio announcers, and newspaper journalist sitting in a room and asking Callahan what he thinks about so and so and where the offense is headed and yada yada yada. What's the point of asking these questions when they haven't even played a down this year? It's a waste of time for both the coaches and players. Fan day on the other hand is when you go and get photos and autographs from the players, coaches, etc. To me, Callahan not having a Media day doesn't mean much. We will still hear about practice reports from tv, radio and newspaper sources regardless. The only reason this is such a big deal is because guys like Tom Shatel and Sipple now have to make 4, 5 trips to South Stadium instead of getting all their questions answered in 1 day, so they are whining
There are so many media covering the Huskers, that everything is covered 100 times over again. What can they possible ask that hasn't already?

Media is probably a little annoyed considering Callahan doesn't speak to them much.
