Not that they don't deserve it but does a scholarship reduction even matter in the era of NIL? The person 'buy rights to the image' could simply pay the tuition.
I thought the same thing. It seems that the NCAA (other than maybe the fines) didn't punish Michigan for the advanced scouting violation at all. They punished Stallions for not cooperating. They punished Harbaugh for not cooperating a second time. Both are gone. Why would they cooperate at this point. They punished Moore slightly for deleting texts that were later recovered from a backup image of the phone. There were additional recruiting violations after cheeseburger gate by two assistants now with the Chargers that led to some recruiting restrictions this year and next. I think the only punch was the 20 to 30 million dollar fine which Michigan is appealing.
A coach that was fired in 2023 for supposedly coaching players on the investigation was cleared. I suppose he could now sue for wrongful termination.
