I don't watch baseball anymore but I always liked the Mariners as a kid (Ken Griffey, Jr.). Tried watching the game last night but tapped out at midnight when they were in the 12th inning.

Yeah, the Dodgers definitely bought their way in. Then again, so did the Mets and they have nothing to show for it. Milwaukee and Seattle did what they did with half the Dodgers' payroll. It's discouraging but still possible.

Few teams have ever been as loaded as the Dodgers. Guess that makes Toronto the plucky underdog we'll be rooting for, but they still have the fifth largest payroll -- $100 million less than the Dodgers.
