We were headed to Witchita Falls that day. The State Patrol had closed I-35 south of Perry so we detoured over to Hwy 81. We got some good shots of the tornado over by Kingfisher. A good F2, but we couldn't get down to see the big one first hand, so we ended up getting some really good damage photos.Yeah it's the real deal. I wish I had my pictures from the 1999 Oklahoma City tornado. I lost them in a system crash by a virus and I didn't have them backed up. They were pictures of the aftermath up I-44 from Chickasha, OK going northeast. The best pic I had was the grass that was embedded in the K-rail on the turnpike. The tornado literally ripped the grass up, roots and all about 3/4 mile wide crossing the turnpike, heading for those poor people in Moore. From what I understand it is......................Is that tornado picture "real"? I am fascinated by them! That is an awesome picture. When I hit the lottery, I am going on a storm chase vacation!
I used to live right next to Tinker AFB in Del City.
I am VERY familiar with that monster.
