I've been attempting to watch some games here and there - only problem is that I've never had a team that rooted for in the NBA. I always just liked watching certain players.

Where should I be hitching my bandwagon this season?

You have a couple of buddies that follow the Mavs (that includes me) so that could be a good start at a distance.

Personally, I would choose the NY Knicks just because of Madison Square Garden first of all and their history.

Then go through the history of the team from the 70s, 80s and 90s. So many players chose to go there, and coaches too. New York and MSG is something special. Former Laker coach Pat Riley went to the Knicks in the 90s. Pat Riley played for them and was their team president for a few years (he coached MJ's Bulls and the LA Lakers).

Comedians love to play at MSG. Plus TV/Movie characters loved the Knicks (Joey/Friends) and Chief Inspector Lee (aka Jackie Chan) "always wanted to go to Madison Square Garden".

I mean, it's the Knicks. So if being a casual fan is something to consider, NY Knicks would be my choice. And they have been playing pretty good this year and last year too.

Helluva athlete and certainly put together a durable career. But for some reason he doesn't win you games and he'd be way down my list of all-time point guards.
