Fought Beatrice tough lost by two yesterday. No Lincoln trip for me.Have family connections to Roncalli. Bummed that I couldn't get out of work, hope the pull off the upset so I can see them Friday!
I have coached in Class A in Omaha for many years. This is so out of touch it isn't funny. Best athletes at the A level, and a commitment to defense is very prevalent. Many scores in the 50s and 40s this year. Many surprised on Benson going down, Westside is a great team. Been saying all year that when they learned how to play together with their new pieces (read: Hermann) they were best in the state this year. We will see if Woodard has another title in him.gbr93 said:I will respectfully beg to differ on this. I only know of maybe a couple class A schools that actually play defense. However, I will say that it more depends on the school rather than the class in which they play to determine who plays D. I'm a little biased here, but I have yet to see a team in the state that plays as good of man to man defense as Falls City High. They're a little undersized, but they have the athleticism to play against bigger bodies. They held Lincoln Christian as a team to 36 and Logan Power, who had been averaging 23 ppg, to 11.NUinID said:Class A is always good to watch. The biggest difference with them is the type of defense that is played. No other class plays that level of defense.
