He most certainly is not. Wright is our best cover corner by a decent margin. I’m sure the idiot announcers said that because our scheme had Marshall on their top receiver most of the game.Marshall is our top cover guy, because the announcers called him that. Anyone know if there are stats that show he’s our top Cover corner? Watched the replay so I’m late to the party.
I don’t think it’s night and day. There’s two differences I see. Instead of losing one score games they win them. The football still isn’t great. You have to look at it perspective. Compare this team to latter-era Frost.... it's a night and day difference.
Yeah it's not the 90s.... those days aren't coming back.
There's three really big differences.I don’t think it’s night and day. There’s two differences I see. Instead of losing one score games they win them. The football still isn’t great.
Less penalties and Ekeler are the difference.
I guess we will see what the rest of the season holds, but I thinks it’s going to be rough.
Isn't it wonderful having an argument on who is our best lockdown corner because both of them are playing so well?Marshall is our top cover guy, because the announcers called him that. Anyone know if there are stats that show he’s our top Cover corner? Watched the replay so I’m late to the party.
I agree. Turnovers should be included. There are 3 differences. There's three really big differences.
1) Special teams - Went from absolutely awful to game changing good.
2) Turnovers, Specifically fumbles - Yes, we still have turnovers, every team does. But, we have drastically cut down on the ones that absolutely kill us in games. Or, when we have one that feels like that's going to happen, the team fights back and overcomes it.
3) Drive and game killing penalties - We have drastically cut down on having a good drive only to have false starts, holding...bla bla bla....
For years, many of us pointed out that if we could fix these areas, we win more games and it appears that has happened so far this year.
These are why, if Rhule leaves, he is leaving the team in way better shape than when he got here.
We are sitting at 6-2 with really just one really crappy performance. That game sucked. But, that happens, and even that team is sitting at 5-3. The remaining 4 games are against teams with a combined 17-13 record. We probably will be underdogs in two and favorites in 2. If we go 8-4, that should mean we beat the teams we should have. If we go better than that, we beat a team or two that are having good seasons.I'd be happy with an 8-4 finish. 6-6 or 7-5 wouldn't feel much better than last year and would mean we tanked November yet again.
Since 18 we are 5-22 in one score games. If we win those instead of lose them we are one of the best programs in the last half decade and make multiple playoffs.Instead of losing one score games they win them.
every time we win a game we are supposed to win, you come out as if we are the up and coming Ohio stHow about we start smaller. Such as, if you can't prove that I've said anything remotely resembling "we are the up and coming Ohio State" you quit posting ridiculous exaggerations?
And I believe the fan base attitude coming into the Northwestern game was split. was the Minnesota game an outlier or was this ship going to turn and capsize..?? glad to see we came out and fought for another win...We are sitting at 6-2 with really just one really crappy performance. That game sucked. But, that happens, and even that team is sitting at 5-3. The remaining 4 games are against teams with a combined 17-13 record. In conference, we have beat teams with a combined 12-11 record. Obviously, three of those losses came to us. So, without our games, teams we have beat are 12-8. Plus, we beat Cincinatti that is now 7-1 with us being the only loss.
There has been, and still is, a lot of talk about how easy our schedule is this year. However, it's shaping up to be a tougher schedule than it looked before the season started.
