It’s not an indictment against the overall 3 defense, it’s a continued trend that an opponents best 3 shooter has been left open far too often for years.

Its called a pregame scouting report.  You know where every coach says DO NOT LEAVE THIS SHOOTER TO DOUBLE OR HELP NO MATTER WHAT!!!!

Every team says this pregame
Lol, but if you have to go to zone due foul trouble that is a problem.

This is a bad loss in the sense that NU was favored and Garza was out (right, he did not play at all)

It is not a bad loss in the sense that it will look bad on the resume.

It is a bad loss in the sense that other teams will cleary slap a zone on the Skers a bit more now.

For the Miles lovers (you know who you are) this one is tough to defend, it really is.

For the Miles haters (you know who you are) this is the type of game that is served up for you to use to defend your stance.

A coach can easily switch to a zone defense to prevent further foul trouble.

And that arguement has little to do with leaving a teams best perimeter shooter.  Applies zone and man.

Fact today, Iowa’s second or third trip down the floor, NU defender leaves Weiskamp(a 44% shooter from 3 mind you) to run at the big guy making his first start pass to Weiskamp who buried a wide open 3.  KNOW YOUR OPPONENT AND YOU DONT LET THEIR GOOD GUYS BEAT YOU.

To be fair I have been a Miles defender and I'm not now a Miles hater.  I can however see the writing on the wall that he will most often coach Nebraska to win a few big games but lose to .500 teams.  He relies on transfers and juco kids and won't put a good "team" on the floor.

Both are premature, but posters are bi-polar.  Lose, we are terrible & win we are great. Minnesota has posted how great we are going to be.
Sort of...but it is way more likely to assume that Miles will have a team NOT make the dance.

It really isn't "bipolar" to think they won't make the dance...especially since their lone conference win (I think) is at home vs one of the worst teams in the nation.

But I still think that if they win out at home, they are in.  That is all the need to do.

Not exactly saying that. There several posters that over react both ways.   That's what makes me laugh.

Wow, no base just fustration comment

We were out-rebounded by nearly 30%.  That seems to be a pretty good basis for no box out and no hustle.  And we continued to jack threes against their zone despite shooting 17%.  That would seem to be a pretty good basis for we had no idea how to attack the zone.

Those comment seem pretty well-founded by watching the game.  Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they have no base.
