What is so bad? Someone please explain.
As a Nebraska fan, how could you be happy? When Nebraska first joined they were playing the blue bloods of NCAA football like Michigan and OSU, plus there was a guaranteeed cross over rival with Penn State.

Now, the Big 10 has added two absolutely horrible football programs with Rutgers and Maryland, and abolished the crossover rival and created the weakest division in NCAA football in the west division.

Conference re-alignment has killed NCAA football, but more importantly to here, it has killed Nebraska football's rival events.

In all fairness the Big XII and 90's realignment killed NU's best rivalry. The B1G just pulled a bait and switch on NU.

I really wanted a real rivalry with PSU to develop. Bad timing I guess. They aren't even close geographically but dammit I love watching these two teams take the field.

Michigan and Ohio State were never going to see us as rivals, too focused on eachother. Probably not even Sparty, they see Michigan as their rival and want to be rivals with Ohio State.

Wisconsin and Iowa can now develop into real rivalries, even Northwestern is becoming a hell of a series.

I think you can pretty much neglect saying "In all fairness" if you are following it up by stating "bait and switch" when you are talking about the same program.

Yea my bad. Not sure which is worse. I'm not happy about the conference at this point either.

Its not that different. We only usually got 1 "Blue Blood" on the schedule from the Big XII. We alternated Texas and Oklahoma. No one else qualifies as a "Blue Blood"

Wisconsin has a lot of potential for an ugly rivalry. Iowa has a lot in common with Colorado. Purdue is kinda like Kansas.

And you know for a fact it's going to remain this way beyond the next year? 5 years? Decade? Century? The point I'm getting at is we've been here a measly 3 seasons now. Outside of football it's been pretty decent. But simply, no one knows jackshit how it'll turn out. This affiliation may be exactly what programs like Maryland and Rutgers need. Who knows. All I know is that all the bitching about how bad it is, my one question is: Overall, is the University of Nebraska better or worse of now than they were this time in 2010?

The additions of Maryland and Rutgers was about so much more than football performance. King sport or not, people have to get their asses over this issue. Hell, even our joining the conference was about so much more than football. Think about this. This conference's geographical footprint now stretches from the Nebraska/Colorado border all the way to the atlantic ocean. And no, it's not like the Big 12 with 9 teams here and oh, there's West Virginia way out there. No. We have a Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland schools. This is the most geographically diverse conference in the country right now if I'm not mistaken. And I believe it's going to pay huge dividends in the future for the entire membership.
