New Defensive Coordinator Rumors

Did anyone else see the flight tracker chatter in regards to Leonard and the same private jet flying between Denver and Lincoln? Possibility or wishful thinking?

I was trying to keep it under wraps, but this was me. Had a good meeting with Coach Rhule, but unfortunately it fell apart when he wouldn't let me bring my third string equipment manager with me. So, I just flew back to Centennial and drove home. Sorry that it didn't work out, but I gave the story to the most well respected Husker news source, so Dittman should be posting it soon.

Agree. I've bashed Garret McGuire a lot, but his dad is plugged into HS there. Maybe Rhule was on to something when he hired Bob Wager who was big HS Texas coach. Always nice to wonder "what if". Would've kept us in there for recruiting. Still thought Garret was in over his head, but coaching RB' at TT and they're 27th in the country rushing. We are further down the list.
 
It's crazy. Rumors about a new DC and now radio silence. Donnie let go and Geeb announced in same breath (kind of). Just wonder if Kehres was thought to be a done deal. And now we are scrambling to a degree.

Just a guess. Meaning we didn't get 1st choice. For whatever reasons that I have previously mentioned. And possibly Rhule has a list. Hope its a long one. Just not a good look when our #1 doesn't come. And AGAIN, could all be on what he wanted not Rhule. And maybe it's a guy coaching in the CFP. But as fast as Geep was hired, I figured we'd be locked in on a DC.
 
I just hope it's a guy with a proven track record. Like Kehres who has years of success. If a dude can coach at D3 and be successful, that recipe will work. Success in a perceived "less" physical conference will work. I am a fan of a guy who knows the B1G (culture, physicality, "poltics etc). But no way is it a deal breaker.

As another poster said, I can't wait to get back to where folks are taking our coaches as opposed to us firing them.
