Shhhh…. It goes against his version that Rhule has lost the program and everything is in chaos.
Also Nebraska has never seen a large number of assistant coaches leave for greener pastures. Tom’s stayed forever. Bo lost a few (Carl, Raymond off the top of my head).

Guys we bring in to interview for open coach positions don’t necessarily visit in the order we want them. In fact, oftentimes it is just a mutual exploratory meeting. We show some interest, they show some interest and a meeting is scheduled that happens to fit both parties schedules (which can vary) and then they meet. Things may align and they may not. There may be no offer or they may turn us down.
That’s it. That’s all there is to it. The first guy we meet with is not necessarily our #1 choice. Heck it may be no more than him boosting his stock for another job just by visiting.
But I realize this speculation, guessing and wild mistaken fact stating are what keep fan sites lively in the offseason so please continue.
