Just not sure in what realm this "Offense is fine".

I'm still not convinced that the WCO can work in College FB..At least not anything but a severely watered down version.

Way too much time spent learning it... taking away from time spent scrimmaging it..Unless you can somehow recruit players that don't need any work on fundamentals..Even then..Our Coaches don't seem to be able to think on their feet during a game.
Well, our offense kept us in this game. Run blocking hasn't been too good all year, and it wasn't that great today, but we ran enough when we needed to. I think the offense is improving each year and will continue to do so. "Fine" means they're about where I think they should be, NOT that they don't have room for improvement.

And what's that...our coaches can't think on their feet? Are you saying, as many have in the past, Callahan is incapable of making adjustments? Have you looked at the stats for the 1st half offense compared to the 2nd? He didn't make any adjustments, huh? Where are all the people screaming about Callahan not being able to make adjustments now? lol

If you meant Cosgrove with that comment, well you'll get no argument from me.
I didn't get the chance to watch this game so I was basing it on the USC game(31 yds rushing) and WF.

Our Offense shows signs of being great, and I'm really going to miss Sam and our graduating Receivers next year, but Cally didn't show me much..Trying to go into halftime keeping the ball away from the trojans even though we were behind and more than a minute left..Carrol, meanwhile was calling timeouts trying to get one last score in..Then they shut us out in the 3rd Quarter like so many other teams last year.

Cally seems to think the things that worked in the 1st half wont be adjusted for by the opposing defense in the second half..further delaying any adjustment he can make..(Better to be Proactive than reactive).

His offensive philosophy may be good enough to get by and possibly not get passed up in a couple of years, but I also don't see him giving Cosgrove up...What kind of coach would get rid of a friend just to save his own job?..Bad enough he's been Borrowing player(s) from the Defense

They should be considered a Package deal.

Well, the offense wasn't looking all that great in the first half and in the second half they ended up looking pretty good (again, with some inconsistent play from the O-Line). Everyone is so quick to point out any little mistakes in a single game, including some admittedly poor adjusting at times, and now I'm doing the same when he does it right. He just showed he CAN make the proper adjustments and make them in a timely fashion. Will he continue to do it? I guess we'll find out, but I believe he's getting better as each season comes and goes. He still has a lot to learn, but I think he's learning and showing us that.

Unlike you, I do see him giving Cosgrove up. Not because he's trying to save his own job, but because he wants what is best for the team it's obvious Cosgrove isn't getting the job done. I believe he'll turn out to be a good enough coach to make the tough decisions, which includes removing your friend from a key coaching position when they have proven they just can't hack it, like Cosgrove has now done, beyond any reasonable doubt.

I'll assume you're talking about the Ball "Fruit jar Tech" State game in the 1st paragraph (Fruit Jar Tech=Donnie Duncan's words today after the game)..And I'll agree. Cally does seem to be picking the college game up a little..Just painfully slow.

"He just showed he CAN make the proper adjustments and make them in a timely fashion"...
Is that a situation where he kept up with a 2nd or 3rd tier coach? or more like "even a broken clock showing the corect time two times a day?

Best case scenario..Coz retires.

Or maybe better..Evolves into a fiery nut job that doesn't necessarily believe Thomas Alva Edison "Genius is one percent inspiration,. and ninety-nine per cent perspiration."..But that Defense is 110% of both :dumdum

Yeah, I expected that. It's sad when some people can only find something negative to say about a positive aspect of the game.

I also think we've seen positive adjustments and play from the team in the 3rd quarter during each game except the USC game (where we were outplayed in all aspects of the game, including coaching). This is also a change from last season and it's encouraging for the rest of the season in terms of offense.
