Ebyl, lay off the guy. You attacks are so rude and rarely add anything.

As much as I want the coaching staff sent out to sea I don't think Turner as head coach is an option. Maybe as OC. I do think we need to consider bringing in coaches that have NU ties for position players and coordinators, or maybe Big 12 ties if we remove Clownahan.

 
Why not Gill as head coach i guarentee he wouldn't settle for a 41-40 win over ball state and i'm not flushing the team down the toilet

Because there is no real reason to get rid of Callahan right now. The offense is coming along fine, we're getting good recruits, and players seem to respect him. I think his play calling has improved as well. All it would do is hurt the team more.

Now, unless there is some miracle turnaround on the defensive side, Cosgrove needs to be removed one way or another. And if Callahan can't bring himself to do that, then I'll have a problem with him.

I see you are newer here. You will see the same 10 people recite the same 5 reasons why Clownahan should stay and why he was hired....you won't change their mind and they refuse to look at all of the contradicting data. BUT you should continue to say your piece, that is what this board is for.

 
I really think these decisions are subjective. There's plenty of data, but the data can only be subjectively twisted to support one side or another. A coach is more than just his record in a few short years. It's really unnecessary to pass opinion off as truth, and also to consider those with low postcounts as newbies who need advice.

The only thing he needs advice on is how to use the board not what his opinion should be. My point is I am ok with anyone who thinks BC should be our coach. Totally fine with that opinion, but they need to have something to support why they feel that way other than "Solich sucked" and "He recruits well"

Here's the thing about my opinion of BC: I honestly don't think he has done anything that warrants him being fired. I want him gone because I don't feel he can ever improve beyone 8-9 wins and that isn't good enough for me. I didn't want him hired. I know he will be fired one day and I want it sooner than later. I totally respect peoples opinions about him, they just should have more substance than "He's the coach so I love him, then I will love the next coach no matter what"

 
i don't have a problem with BC offense but our defense sucks and i don't see that intensity that used to be here at nebraska. What better way to restore the order than hiring turner gill and hiring former nebraska players as the staff??

 
Why change head coaches if that is your only reason? A shakeup in the defensive staff should work just as well, since Callahan really has very little to do with the defense. He obviously made a mistake in bringing Cosgrove in for DC, and yes, now it's on him to fix that by removing him. You think our offense is fine and our defense sucks, yet you want to replace the person most responsible for the offense? Making good changes in the defensive staff should get the result you want. Firing Callahan right now won't do anything but hurt the team.

3.2 yds per rush is not fine. Our O-Line is awful against anyone but Nevada. Keller and our receivers are good but let's see what happens when Purify and Keller are gone and Ganz gets in there.

True. Cosgrunt probably isn't going anywhere soon. His soundbite on KETV kind of showed he's trying to dance real fast. He knows he has no answers, and it could get a whole lot worse.

 
After this game, I think he's going to have to pull off some kind of miracle with his defense or he'll lose his job at the end of the year. 600 yards against is just indefensible, and with his history of mediocre defenses, I don't see how it can end any other way.
