NFL 2024

Bears Aussie Aussie Aussie punter Tory Taylor punted the s#!t out of the ball.  He kept flipping the field and putting the Rams in terrible field position to start drives.  One punt went from the 15 to the 15 - in air - with hang time.  2 punts were downed inside the 10 yard line, including the final kick that made the Rams having to go more than 90 yards to tie the game with 1:00 left.  So it helped seal the deal.

Bears fans, myself included, are loving this guy.  :horns2
You do remember where he came from right?  What he did to us for years? Oh we know this guy alright.

This is all of the news today in Cleveland.  DeShaun has has multiple sexual assult lawsuits.  (some still ongoing)  He has been awful this year.  The injury and the situation is all on the Browns.  Watson should have been on the bench.  I think the Browns still owe him a sick amount of money.  BUT to cheer him going down is just wrong.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered what in all likelihood is a season-ending Achilles injury on Sunday.

Browns fans aren't sorry to see him go. Fans in the stands in Cleveland booed Watson in pregame introductions, then reportedly cheered after he went down with his injury. After the game, Browns players including All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett chastised those fans for their reaction.

First of all it was a horrible contract from the Browns Organization.

Secondly, Watson has under produced.

Third, Watson has not been a pro on the field.

I'm not alone, and the cameras have shown him yelling in his HC face, yelling at his offensive teammates, covering his head with a towel on the bench and throwing fits.

If the Browns release him, they owe him $92 million dollars.  Watson also has a health insurance policy in addition (including achillies injury and other injuries).

If the Browns bench him until his contract ends, they have to pay him $230 million dollars.

It's a win-win for Watson.  However, the biggest problem is not being a professional during bad times, losing games, and hearing from NFL fans boo him.  Dude needs to act like a pro because has a $230 million fully guaranteed contract (unless cut -92 mil) and set for life by 32 years old.

I liked him at Clemson.  He had some amazing games in Houston.  But he has become a spoiled little b!^@h.  I don't feel sorry for him and couldn't care less what Lebron says or what his defensive teammates think.  Watson is still a b!^@h.  And I doubt they would stand up for Baker Mayfield or Kirk Cousins if he was on the team.

I listened to local sports talk today.  Something I never do.  The local guys called out the fans for cheering his injury, but also his teammates saying he was a model citizen.

He has done nothing here to help himself out.

Yeah, this is such a bizarre and honestly tone-deaf situation in Cleveland from all parties involved, which is entirely predictable and incredibly on-brand.

It's a tough position to be in as a player. A lot of those guys are obligated to professionally support and play with Watson because of decisions made by ownership. But, they don't have to go out there and make him into something he isn't, just like the fans don't need to boo a guy for getting injured. All of those things are bad looks.

Like most of these situations, it's cumulative. Browns fans had every reason to feel good about crawling out of the NFL basement to become a playoff contender, with exciting players on both offense and defense. Whether it's fair or not, it kinda feels like they burned the house down to get Deshaun Watson, and I'd guess the boos for Watson are just as much aimed at management.

Officiating at all levels is just bad.  I don't really know what the answer is.  Villifiying them doesn't make it better.  More officials makes for more flags.  Not sure people are ready for that.

Terrible call, but it just gets added to a long history of terrible calls in every sport. If anything, this year's refs have been going over-board with ticky-tack calls.

One possible solution is for the NFL to allot some of its incredible wealth to higher paid and better trained officials. Even then the metrics suggest some terrible calls every year.
