NFL 2025

Wow, refs were quite pathetic in that Buf/Den game. Amazing how the PI wasn’t called when Buffalo receiver got mauled in the end zone but some phantom PI called in overtime. After a clear catch was ruled an INT. Wonder if Carl’s crew had money on the game :)

Far from "phantom" PI calls.

I did think the INT was a pretty questionable call. For starters, as Steratore said on the broadcast, I don't think there was ever clear possession. But after watching it again, I wonder if "surviving the ground" comes in to play. If the Bronco rips it out and the ball falls to the turf, it's definitely incomplete because he didn't complete the catch. So, from that standpoint, it would still be a live ball that McMillan came up with.

If you want a phantom (no) call, you can look to where they kept the flag in their pocket instead of ending a playoff game on an holding call in the end zone.

I think the first OT pass interference was phantom, the second PI was the defender getting there early, however it was no worse than the no call at the end of the game with the Buffalo receiver in the end zone IMO. I just feel the Refs cant be selective when deciding on “letting them play” or not.

On the first one, the DB was holding Sutton's arm all the way down the field then grabbed it again as he reached for the ball.

There was also some contact on the Bills receiver but even the broadcast guys couldn't figure out why he quit running. He stopped himself and then by the time he tried to run again the ball was uncatchable.
