Band wagon fans... blah blah blah! Unless you are at the stadium cheering until your lose your voice, then your opinions dont matter. I am there, always, in full force with eyes bugging out of my skull from yelling, cheering and unfaltering support! But when some punk says we should stay home if we dont like it, maybe he shouldnt be a starter because that is punk talk... much of like what is being replied on this thread.

Steve Oct is our best D player? Holy Sh*t! We are in BIG F'IN TROUBLE!! IF he is the best we have and is so damn good, how did they allow 1000+ yards and 90 points in TWO GAMES!! Maybe Steve should use that interview emotion on the field or the locker room where it matters, in fact, those are the only places that stuff matters! How do you get someones attention if they think they are better than they are... its called a REALITY CHECK! So heres your reality check, the D sucks bad this year and should be thanking fans for coming out, every week in record numbers to support a squad that is playing half azz. Coaches dont wear helmets. They can only lead, its up to the player to use their ability and talent to make plays... and that just isnt happening regularly enough. And speaking of emotion, why is it there are 1 or 2 D players that try to get the crowd into the game nowadays... quit defending these kids, if they cant take the heat, then they dont belong in the game. Not to mention, they do get paid to play, its called a scholarship! Have you priced hourly rates at UNL lately? I assure you, the kids are WELL compensated!

What kind of weed are you guys smokin?!
Poor poor baby.

Octavien went to Coach Callahan after he made the comments and said he made a mistake. Coach Callahan told him everyone makes them in the heat of the moment. Octavien was just trying to stick up for his teammates and his coaches.

But here's some music for you to continue your pity party rant :violin
Didnt the coach say it was inappropriate? Enough said... nice tune! Must be the fight song for Ball State?!
Yeah he did, but he also didn't kick him off the team like you suggested (or relegate him to 3rd string, I would imagine). Thankfully you're not the one who makes those decisions.
But it got your attention, didnt it?! Think it would work on the players? Point made.

It got my attention for the wrong reasons. Do I think it would work on the players? Nope. Point made (that you have no clue)? Yep.

Kickoff the one player who shows fire and intensity, which is what this defense is lacking??!! Good support there buddy. Guess we should kick Keller off too for yelling and trying to motivate teamates also.
Keller does it DURING the game... Oct waits until the game is OVER... you figure it out!!
I agree but if anyone says something they regret and it isn't inflammatory and done in the heat of the moment then they should be given another chance after a sincere apology. Octavien we can give another chance....M. Vick can go to hell.

See the difference?
I see the difference... but enough talk... get out there and play like a champion and shut the hell up!

I say we have Octavien tell Coz that if we boo he isn't allowed to show up to the games anymore...LOL
Thats funny... seriously, we were all freaking out last year at the idea of losing coz, and now we are calling for his head? Its dual blame, coaching AND playing... you can only lead the horse, blah blah blah.

Time fo the boys to show why they deserve our undying support and play like a BLACKSHIRT!

Yes, but don't you think a part of the lack of heart is due to the coaching? Not motivating them, lack of fundementals, maybe even now a lack of confidence? Not believing in the coaches? A lot of former players, including Dr. Rob and Clester Johnson of "Sports Sound Off," think the defense is poorly coached. As Dr. Rob said, "They don't know what they are doing." Sounds like a lot of it has to do with the coaching.

Anyway, Octavien told Callahan he made a mistake and said he was sorry. He went to Callahan, not the other way around. Again he said he was sorry. We are all not perfect. Give the kid, who was frustrated by the game, a break.

jjamuss------at what point of the USC game did you leave?

were you one of the ones that left during the 3rd QTR? 4th QTR?

did you turn the TV off?

or did you stay the entire time, cheering for your team, and showing that even in defeat that you still supported them?

did you boo during the Ball St game? or did you shake your head in disgust when you heard the thousands of people booing?

I've never been a violent person (except twice in self defense), but this post/thread just made me realize I probably can't watch another game in person or in a bar.

If somebody next to me started booing my team, I'd probably have to put them down.
It almost happened saturday. Some fat loud mouth 2 rows behind me just about got thrown down the steps by several of us.
Because he booed? I am sure he had to be more insulting than that. I don't believe in booing college kids but I DO believe everyone has the right to say/boo whatever they want as long as it isn't insulting to those around them with derogatory language. If you can't handle hearing someone boo then that is a testament to your character as well.
Maybe so..I was surprised by my statement because all my training stressed tolerance and I always figured the only acceptable reason for violence would be if a family member was in danger.

I was attacked outside Nebraska Bookstore my Freshman year..Having never hit anyone in anger before, I was scared of the "Hulk" that suddenly appeared from inside of me..Main reason I started studying Martial arts soon after.

I guess what I'm trying to say is "Yes even Bandwagon fans have the right to exist and boo if they want.

But it might trigger or escalate unwanted behavior in others.

Not saying it would be justified, but it would feel good at the time.

You're a punk for insinuating fans who don't make the game have no opinions. Try telling that to the NU fan who is a fireman or policeman working to make sure your safe so you can go feel superior to others because you're at the game. Try telling that to the NU fans serving this country in nations you probably can't even f'ing pronounce let alone spell so you can enjoy your freedoms. To claim these people are "band wagon" fans is an insult to everyone on this board who is a police officer or firefighter or doctor or soldier/sailor/marine/airman.

You're a f'ing dickwad who needs his a$$ kicked
Its all about choices... I didnt choose to be a cop or fireman, kudos to those that did... I am talking about the arm chair fans that do nothing more than run their mouths, like you!! You add nothing to the program, so you sit on the fringe and fire at the fans that are out spending their hard earned money on this program. Do us a favor and just shut it because your opinions DO NOT MATTER!

When the clock said 0:00 AFTER the 4th quarter, and once I was done clapping for the team. Thanks for asking!

you cant coach heart, either you got it or you dont... and these players are showing us that while they might have some heart, it is lacking by the HUSKER STANDARD!

The opinions of former players do matter. They agree that the coaching is poor, especially on defense. Do you think their opinions don't matter? Don't you think they know more about the game than you?
