Offensive Play Discussion - 2020

This either missed by about five yards or was about a second late.  Either way, not that good.
I watched a bit of the Okie State game this weekend, and watching them execute many similar passing plays Nebraska struggles to execute was pretty telling. It's always something with Nebraska i.e. a bad route here or an inaccurate pass there.

I hadn't noticed this before but Frost goes to the official right after that play.  If he was complaining about the clapping then it would lend credibility to the claim (as opposed to being something they dreamed up later).

These are some of the holes that I think guys like Mills and Scott miss. Thompkins was finding them, but he's out. We really need one of our backs to start finding these holes because they aren't big, but that's really well blocked against a defense like Iowa's.

This is a nice gain, but it's almost all on Wandale and the play design. The three blockers in front basically get one guy. The receiver blocked for about half a second. Get three blocks by three guys, you double the yards.

I know most of the plays that get posted are the plays that were good for the Huskers.  But the OL is getting really nice protection in them.  It's the LB that come off the blitz pickup by Wan'Dale that pressures Martinez.  I would guess this is the play that Martiez got dinged for holding the ball too long but this is a great example of why you hold it as long as you can.

Speed is hard to defend.  We had two guys block one and let the guy who made the tackle go.  Still got six yards.  He made two other unblocked guys miss.

MORE BUBBLE SCREENS!!!  Where's that thread from last year mocking all the bubble screens.  This one wasn't as good of a pass but still nets five yards.

Just a really nice play all the way around.  Good blocking.  Martinez gets through his progression and gets the compltion.

Man, Betts is going to be so much fun.  He's one of those long-striders who doesn't look particularly fast but is covering a lot of ground in a hurry.  This concept has been nice.

One for the "Frost doesn't know what he's doing as OC" crowd.  Use the concept from the previous post to set up this play.  The entire left side of the line is COMPLETELY VACATED because of how the offense is working.
