I don't think they have much money. I heard on a podcast that their athletic dept has been in the red for a while and they are paying something like $10M/year to the old Pac-12 teams. The B1G money will put them in good shape after a few years.

You may be right. But they've always been able to pay for high profile coaches, and they've got a lot of deep pockets alums for the NIL era.

Yeah, but I also wonder if those UCLA deep pockets that gladly help with basketball, baseball and softball are like "the football team? No way, F that noise"

So far, yes. But they don't really pick up until later in the year, just like most years.

That was my thinking too! Zane Flores needs another year to learn bc he was thrown into the fire. Hopefully he gets that chance there if Gundy doesn't get fired.
