**Official B1G Media Days Thread**

Thanks for the updates Knapp! :cheers

We're not going to adapt to the conference, we're going to make the conference adapt to us. We're changing some things offensively, new wrinkles, but the defense will be the same. You have to adapt to your opponents, but you have to play your game.
This.

And I mean this times a billion.

This is the mindset we have to have. We aren't going to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust and have big-heavy set guys who get burned by faster guys in other conferences.

[Or that's how the perception is]

That is the mindset you have to have. Bo is essentially saying, "We are going to do what the hell we want and we are going to do it damn well and that's your problem, so deal with it."

Love it. Love that quote. It feels kind of like our old teams of "We are going to run option and right down your throat and we dare you to stop us". That's the same mentality essentially.

Getting more and more fired up for the season after reading this thread. :bonez :bigredn:

What will be different in style of play?

Bo says that's not what he meant. The teams they'll play will be different, but we'll do what we do, and we'll do it well. We're not going to adapt to the conference, we're going to make the conference adapt to us. We're changing some things offensively, new wrinkles, but the defense will be the same. **cringe**

Flash back to what BC said - "We are going to do what we want offensively"

Bo dropped a few tidbits after his official presser was over:

  • He made the statement about Bubba being involved with "everything" the team is doing. He's working out with the team just like everybody else.
  • Bo said he would like to do away with Freshman eligibility. He thinks it would make a better product on the field.
  • Apparently NU is trying to obtain a waiver so that Mike Marrow can compete this year. That action is still pending.
  • Charles Jackson's eligibility is still "up in the air." It's an academic thing.
  • Jackson is the only recruit not cleared yet. Everyone else is eligible.

Brady Hoke sounds like he's doing an impression of Darrell Hammond doing an impression of Bill Clinton.
:rollin

LOL @ Bo forgetting Tyson Broekemeier's name. "...and we added a walk-on... uh... um.... yeah so we feel really good about the quarterback position."

Cut the guy some slack, that's a hard name to remember. :P
I think he realized just then he's never actually said "Broekemeier" out loud, only read it on paper. It seemed as though he was trying to pronounce it in his head before speaking, and just gave up lol.

Lots of sunshine being pumped by Rex and Bo about Taylor and his leadership. Sounds like he's speaking up, taking an active role, getting his voice out there.

Is this news, or have we known this for a while? I'm losing track of the deals.

They better get a deal with CableOne soon. Around here, DirecTV guys are pounding the pavement and making a lot of sales.

What are the biggest differences between conferences?

Ask me a year from now and I'll have a better idea. Haven't gone through the schedule yet. Played in this conference and grew up in Big Ten country and has a lot of respect for what the Big Ten represents. Bo is honored to be part of the tradition and academic integrity, and he thinks we fit in well.

Tremendous, tremendous, tremendous. Bo's favorite word.
"Obviously"

My favorite Pelini answer today:

reporter: “Coach, whether it’s on the field or off, what’s the biggest difference between the Big 12 and the Big 10?”

Pelini: “. . . I think the leadership in this conference is tremendous.”
