It is just like everything else these days. The vast majority of the public will go along with it to show support of the team and defense. But because there is a extremely VOCAL MINORITY that is so blinded by being "right" that they will not debate or discuss one way or the other it has to be shut down right away. Otherwise there might be an open discussion and possibily it happens or maybe it doesn't. But you cannot argue with ignorance.

Vocal MINORITY? Do me a favor, count the ratio between black shirts and red shirts at the game Sat.

I guess I just can't wait until Saturday when the student section becomes this giant bruise in memorial stadium. Then everyone will realize..... meh......... <_<

A Black Out against a team with black in the jerseys? Thats ahhhh smart?
WMU alumnus here:

I've heard of making the visitors feel at home, but you are exceeding any of our expectations here.

If the stands are filled with blackshi*ts, it will feel like a home game. The only item missing will be a second event (like a hockey game against UN-O) as we do on b******* Saturdays in Kalamazoo. We won't be able to tell the difference between the UN and WMU rooters in the stands.

By the way, the dominant color of our home uniforms is black

I'll wear this...I'm sure no team could possibly think this was planned...

God save the queen...i thought it would at least take until the Va. Tech game to drag this sh#t out...

You're right, the BlkOut being pushed by the Athletic department is completely asinine and stupid same with TO since he originally proposed it in the student ticket email sent out last March. I wish TO would grow up and starting thinking like the only real husker fans, (The Trolls on this board) :sarcasm

Define irony:

Bo Pelini won't even award blackshirts.

Small minded fools want to wear blackshirts in support of something that might not happen for the first game.......Interesting......

Listen, we as NU fans should feel proud that we have a strong tradition that is beyond any current student or alumni. Frankly, after the last few years, its all we have left. The minute we start latching on to trends that OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE DONE, we are officially dead. We will have nothing original left. We are the sea of red.

You really shouldn't accuse others of trolling when that's exactly what you're doing with that post. Hypocrisy is one of the worst traits a person can have.

Whether or not the athletic department is sponsoring the idea, it's still a bad idea.
